Backup Copy Failure

Post by JackT »

Hi,
We needed to make storage on our main server, as snapshots were going to run us out of storage. Hence, we deleted our backup copy jobs, thinking that they would replace one another. This turned out to be wrong, as now we have 11TB more storage, but are without backup copies.

Any help is much appreciated :)

Thanks,
Jack

Hi Jack

I'm sorry, but I don't get the question.

That sounds like a technical issue. Please provide a support case ID for this issue, as requested when you click New Topic.
Without case number, the topic will eventually be deleted by moderators.

Best regards,
Fabian

Hello,

I guess the question is related to the procedure of backups deletion. If I'm right, have a look at this option.

Thanks!

Hi Petr,

The way I worded it in the support case was:

"We deleted our backup copy files one of our our storage devices to make room for more, as snapshots were taking up all of our storage. We thought that the backup copy file would replace each other, however the jobs state "The file cannot be found". Is there a way we can create a new file for the backup copy job to read?"

You can try to start an new active full for the backup copy job, if you have deleted all Backup Copy Files:
https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/backu ... ml?ver=110

But the old files are still available in the database and should be removed by the provided link from Petr.

Thanks,

I ended up erasing the job off the disk and then deleting all that was left on the storage location. It has so far worked, as the backup copies are working as per usual
