VCD 10.4.0 on Veeam 11.0.1.1261 P20220302
Hi there
VCD 10.4.0 has just come out, and since this potentially has API changes I'm holding off upgrading in case something breaks with Veeam.
Has anyone tried it yet, or could we get an official update on compatibility asap?
There are quite a few nice additions in 10.4.0, especially around the ALB integration in NSX-T, so I'm hoping we can get official support confirmed in the current version (fingers crossed it doesn't need a Veeam patch).

Our commitment is to deliver support for a newer major build within 90 days after GA release.
But that depends on how the testing goes and if we have to deliver a patch/new vbr version or not.

Indeed, it was more the placing of this post in the hope of hearing when the testing has been completed. I miss Gostev's digest posts that would be bang up to date on this stuff, but will keep an eye on the forums over the next weeks.

actually I wonder if you could start listing the VCD versions on the veeam-backup-replication-f2/current-version-t9456.html page, as that is a good first page for checking compatibility I find.

With 10.4 vmware removed api v31.0 which seems to be needed by Veeam B&R.

But we don't have an ETA yet, when we can support the new build.

I have an issue with connecting Veeam Backup and Replication 11 to vCloud Director after upgrading VCD 10.3 to 10.4:

Downgrade is not really an option since 10.4 was long awaited as it brings pretty significant cost savings for providers around AVI - NSX ALB - licensing. I believe everyone can understand that no longer need to deploy multiple AVI controller clusters just to have Basic and Enterprise options at hand. Now this can be solved with a single deployment. If Veeam is in strategic partnership with VMware, how come that there is still no date for a 10.4 compatible version of Veeam?

Generally we try to support any new platfom release within the 90 days since its GA date. More information about it can be found here. Sometimes it takes more, sometimes less, but that's our general rule.
Also, we don't recommend updating to new platform version immediately, unless it's confirmed that such move does not cause any issues.
We have started testing 10.4 to verify what gets broken in this release and how it can be addressed.
For any one who has already updated to 10.4 we suggest opening a support ticket and sharing its number here. This allows QA team not to miss any specific problem during their tests.

Thank you, Benjamin and Yaroslav; I have passed the cases to the QA team. We have identified the root cause and are currently working on the hotfix. Given the current R&D team load, the hotfix creation might take some time, but I will let you know as soon as it's created.

Is there any update regarding the subject issue as its also two months now of vCloud Director 10.4 GA.

We plan to release the private fix in the next couple of weeks. The fix will include solutions for the Cloud Connect Replication issue with Cloud Director 10.3.2 and the general backup server problem with Cloud Director 10.4. Once the fix is created, it will be posted as a KB article (the number of which I will for sure post in this thread). Thanks!

Hi, Peter; the support team is aware that the R&D team is working on the hotfix (which passes the final verification tests as we speak), so you are welcome to create a ticket and ask to be provided with the hotfix as soon as it's available.

[MERGED] SureBackup Job Fails After vCloud 10.4 Fix
I applied the private fix for the vCloud 10.4 compatibility - https://www.veeam.com/kb4352. Afterwards, my SureBackup job has been failing with "Method not found" error when trying to connect the NIC.
Method not found: 'Void Veeam.Backup.ViSoap.CSoapConnection.UpdateNetworkAdapter2Vm(System.String, System.String, Int32, System.String, System.String, Boolean, Int32, System.String)'. (System.MissingMethodException).
Weirdly, restores still work fine and restores are able to connect NICs, just the SureBackup fails. There was a similar error back in 2011 (I know it was a long time ago so may not be relevant). https://www.veeam.com/kb1195. However, the solution was to upgrade Veeam to the latest version and then apply the hotfix again. I was on the latest GA Veeam version (11.0.1.1261 P20220302) when I initially applied the hotfix.
I do have Veeam support Case # 0565930 I opened for this issue.
Any suggestions?
