NAS backup to tape

Post by rpop »

Hello,

Base on this guide: https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/backu ... ml?ver=120

I am currently testing nas backup to tape.

We backup NAS shares everyday on short term server and copy them on long term server too;
we know the first backup was a full of course, and incremental for the following.

so we want to backup these nas backups on tape everyday too, of course the first will be a full backup on the tape, but as obviously we cannot use GFS for NAS backup to tape, how can periodically create full on tape ?

Below my configuration for my bacckup to tape job:
Media pool --> "abc"
Incremental Backup --> checkbox enabled with media pool --> "abc"
Eject tape media upon completion enabled
Export current media set upon job completion disabled (not checked)

Below my configuration for my Media pool "abc" :
For test, only 3 LTO8 tapes inside this media pool
Media set name : "Do not create, always continue using current media set"
Data retention policy : "Protect data for 1 Month"
Offline media tracking : Move all offline tapes.... " enabled
Enable parallel processing for tape jobs using this media pool : enabled --> 2 tape drives simultaneously
Process independent data sources simultaneously : enabled
Use encryption : enabled

Thank y ou for your help

regards

Hello,
how can periodically create full on tape
that can be done by scheduling a full backup in the "full backup" step (one step before the "incremental backup") in the tape job wizard.

Best regards,
Hannes
