Renaming VMs
We used a VMware replica job to migrate some VMs from one host to another. I would like to remove the "_replica" suffix, but historically I seem to remember VMware backup jobs treating the VM as an entirely new VM after renaming, thus taking a new full backup of it. Is this still the case? Will the VMware backup job see these as new VMs post renaming and take a new full backup of each? Thanks

Re: Renaming VMs
If the MOREF ID remains the same after you rename it, then the backup job pointing at them should continue, but if this changes, then it will run a full at the next backup. See this forum post about this - vmware-vsphere-f24/rename-virtual-machi ... 16005.html
