Patching rollback options available for veeam proxy server

Post by sanath.g@infosys.com »

Hi All,
I have a general query regarding Veeam proxy server. We are using a Linux based appliance as proxy server, I just wanted to know what are the rollback options available in case the patching goes wrong?

If the system is functioning correctly you should see Nutanix AHV snapshots for the proxy VM in the VBR console which would allow quick rollback to an existing snapshot otherwise you could simply run an ordinary VM snapshot/rollback via Prism. In case it all goes wrong you should take a proxy configuration backup which could be restored to a new proxy instance.

Thanks for the answer Ronn. Can you share any article that shows how to perform proxy configuration restore to new proxy instance.

I'm going to correct ronnmartin61 slightly. The AHV snapshot jobs for protecting the AHV proxies existed in AHV proxy v3 (and possibly earlier, I don't know). This was replaced in v4/VBR12 to have the VBR server include AHV configurations in its regular configuration file backups.

I was confused by this new behavior as well and have it documented in this forum thread: post485051.html
