[SOLVED] v12.1 upgrade fails with error "value" at stage 1

Hi everyone,

my upgrade failed with a strange message "value" which I have found in the SetupBackupCheckerBR*.log:

So obviously something related to the database. I have created the case 07060351. Let's see what comes out.

Hi Michael,

I didn't find the identical error message in any other support cases for 12.1. Let's give our support team some time to dig into the logs and figure out a fix.

The investigation is still ongoing in Michaels case.

Hi guys,

I guess we have found the issue - in the registry the "SqlDatabaseName" REG_SZ was missing (in the PostgreSql Key). So obviously the configuration database wizard (which I have used to switch from sql server to postgresql) didn't create that value in the registry. Sergio, if you check for that value in the registry, it should be missing.

Hello,
Yes, it was that issue for me as well.
After creating the SqlDatabaseName with REG_SZ Type pointing to my DB, the Upgrade completed successfully.
I upgraded SQL server to PostgreSQL when v12 came out. So, I think you can add this solution to your knowledge base for other people in the same circumstances.
