Getting a new NFR License

Post by Rfishman »

Hi,

I have an existing NFR license for my homelab, registered to my company email address, which will expire in the not-too-distant future. I tried to request a new key through the NFR web page, but nothing came through to my email. Not entirely sure why as I receive other Veeam emails just fine.

This happened once before, and a kind Veeam employee stepped in to help me. If there’s somewhere else you can point me to get the license, I’d be most appreciative.

Thanks in advance,
- Russell Fishman

It’s possible that something went wrong on the portal’s side, which is why you haven’t received the new license. We’ve reached out to the specialists responsible for it, and hopefully they’ll be able to resolve the issue (although it may take some time, given their current workload and the summer holiday period).

In the meantime, you can send me a private message with the email address the previous license was issued to, and I’ll do my best to see what can be done for you.

Hi, I'm also in a similar situation and tried to apply for a new NFR license via the usual portal. Shortly after, I did receive an NFR license in my email but it is the same as the current outgoing one. I'm not sure if I should only apply for a new one after the current license expires? Any help is much appreciated :)

I have a similar issue - My NFR Key expires next month, but it hasn't auto renewed and I can find no way to request a new Licence via the portal

What am I missing? Surely I don't have to wait for it to actually expire before I can request a new one?

NFRs do not auto-renew for sure. Please apply for a new NFR key once your current key expires and let us know if there are any issues obtaining a new NFR key then. Licensing is not managed by R&D but we can ping the responsible team in case of issues. There are no known issues with renewing expired NFR keys at the moment though.

Thanks for the update - I'll look at it again when they expire and come back to you if needed

The NFR site gives a 404. What is the right link?

Last time this happened to me I found I had to wait until the old licence had actually expired before I could request a new one. Then it works fine. Perhaps a 14 day 'window' prior to the expiry date might be possible...??
