AZ SQL VM - Storage Spaces support

Hi,

The Azure VM combined with MS SQL apparently uses Storage Spaces for the data drives. We recently needed to restore some files and discovered that Veeam Backup for Azure FLR does not support Storage Spaces, those volumes do not appear in the restore view. (Ticket #07878447)

When you convert the snapshot and attach it to a VM, you can access the files & volumes without any issues.

Storage Spaces is built into the SQL VM solution where the license is bundled with the VM, and there’s no option to disable it.
