Hi,
The Azure VM combined with MS SQL apparently uses Storage Spaces for the data drives. We recently needed to restore some files and discovered that Veeam Backup for Azure FLR does not support Storage Spaces, those volumes do not appear in the restore view. (Ticket #07878447)
When you convert the snapshot and attach it to a VM, you can access the files & volumes without any issues.
Storage Spaces is built into the SQL VM solution where the license is bundled with the VM, and there’s no option to disable it.

Hi Bastiaan,
We currently do not support this indeed. We'll look what can be done as an enhancement here for the future.

Re: AZ SQL VM - Storage Spaces support
Have also just been bitten by this - went to run a restore from a point and the Data and Logs drives were not there.
To make matters worse, the SQL DB backup dump location is on the temporary drive, since it was assumed the backup was capturing this as well, and whilst this isn't a storage pool drive, it's also not included in the backup.
I'm adding a new drive to the Azure VM and moving the SQL DB backup dumps to the drive now (which hopefully doesn't show up as a storage pool), but the storage pool drives not being backed up for FLR is a big issue.

Hi Andrew,
There are no changes since our last release so we'll consider this as an enhancement in the future.
