check Teams chats

hi,
i have added a new org with Teams chats disabled, because it wont let me create Entra app automatically.
after that i did activate Teams chats and checked grant the required permissions…
the backup job was successful.
1. is this the right way and sufficient to set the right Entra app permissions?
2. how can i check, if it functions properly and where can i see the „chats“ in the Veeam explorer?

Hi Karsten,

1.) Yes, that is the correct approach for now (please see Polina's comment) .

2.) Start a Teams Restore. You’ll see the protected Channel posts, and you can restore them from there.

i think, the Entra app permissions are correct.
did i miss something important or should i open a support case. i am on 8.2

How is your backup job configured? Is it set to protect entire organization or specific selected objects?

Hi Polina. backup is set to protect the entire organization.
it is a brand new org and the first customer with Teams chats activated.

The option to protect entire organization by default does not include teams chats.


You can change it to protecting a selected organization, edit processing options and enable Teams chats backup
