Hi, I already read the FAQ regarding the VSA. Basically, it says, that I will have all the features of a Windows-based install also in an appliance, which is very good to know.
However, I want to make sure that I won't have unexpected "surprises". Therefore, just to make sure (it is planned to install bare metal):
1) I use backup copy jobs to rotated storage (i.e. USB drives) a lot. Will this still work? Users change the USB drive daily (most times, they have one drive per weekday.)
2) Proxmox is also supported, correct? (I'm asking, because it's a "plugin")
3) SOBR (made up of local disk drives and S3) is supported
4) Application aware processing is supported (SQL server and Exchange Server)
5) Agent for Windows (i.e. backing up bare metal machines) is supported
6) I will have to install the Windows-based B&R console application somewhere to manage advanced settings - but other than that I won't need an additional server/VM.
I'm pretty sure, the answers for 3-6 is yes. But it would be nice if someone could confirm or tell me limitations. 1 and 2 are the ones where I am mostly unsure.
Thank you.

Re: Appliance questions
Right, it's the single cross-platform code for both Windows and Linux (appliance) so no differences for features.
Proxmox plug-in is available.
You will have to designate a Windows computer as a backup repository for rotated drives though as you cannot plug them into appliance.

Re: Appliance questions
Thanks for the quick response!
Is it planned to add USB support to the appliance sometime?
I have not installed a separate backup repository machine, yet. I guess I can just use the same license file which I use for the main B&R server?

Re: Appliance questions
I'm afraid it's not possible in principle as DISA STIG mandates using USBGuard.
We don't license backup infrastructure components at all.
