Cloudflare R2 Object storage is $15/TB so 3 times the cost of the 3 vendors in this post. Cloudflare does not charge egress fees but they charge for object operations.

And we have expanded more regions in the EU and the next expansion is going to be the Asia Pacific and Australia regions. Will keep you all posted.!

Thanks
Awesome news! Since I originally wrote this post iDrive has improved a lot. Went from 9 storage regions to 13 (more than Wasabi 12). Once you add regions in Asia & Australia you will be competing head to head with Wasabi in terms of geographical advantage. I haven't had time to test the new speed improvements in iDrive. Are these improvements in terms of upload/download speed or in navigating thru the buckets?

It's great to see that iDrive is now listed in the "Unofficial object storage compatibility list for Veeam Backup & Replication"

Hey Raghava, I wanted to circle back to this thread with a quick update on our storage strategy. I’ve been a happy Wasabi customer for the last 3.5 years, using it as our primary Scale-Out Backup Repository (SOBR). However, the "minimum retention period" (deleted data) charges impact our bottom line. This led me to give IDrive e2 a serious look again lately.
  • Performance: We moved our archival data to IDrive e2 last month and the results are impressive. From our location in Toronto, we are consistently maxing out our bandwidth to iDrive e2 Montreal data center (900 Mbps). Wasabi speed is almost the same to be transparent!
  • User Experience:The IDrive e2 UI is clean and intuitive. Wasabi has improved the UI a lot in the past 3 years so I would say they are both really good.
  • Economics: While Wasabi served us well, the pricing model of IDrive e2: specifically the lack of egress or deleted data fees was the deciding factor.
Since I am migrating from VBR v12 to VBR v13 (deployed the software appliance), I’ve decided to fully transition our SOBR over to IDrive e2. When you have two providers offering comparable performance, it ultimately comes down to the best ROI.

I’ll check back in after a few months to let everyone know how the long-term stability holds up under V13!
