Veeam Appliance 13.0.1.1071 cant create new user as veemadmin and backup console denies access to veeamadmin

I recently deployed a new VBR using the appliance. Everything was working fine initially, but after it upgraded to version 13.0.1.1071, I can no longer log in through the Backup Console.
The login process appears to succeed at first and the console opens and displays the backup server, but after about 3–5 seconds, I’m logged out with an “unauthorized access” error.

The only relevant information I can find is in the Application Event Log at the time of the error (see details at the bottom of this message).

For context:
The console is installed on a fresh Windows Server 2022 VM.
I’ve already tried reinstalling the console, but the issue persists.

Additionally, I attempted to create a new user via the Web GUI, but I receive an “invalid username” error. I am currently logged in as “veeamadmin” and have tried various formats (e.g., user1, domain\user, and other random names), but all result in the same error. I am assuming they are connected as it seems that veeamadmin has lost some of it's privileges

Has anyone else encountered this issue? This is only a test server so I have not logged case with Veeam yet

Hello, Phil,

From the screenshots it looks like you are trying to login with a local user and your server is a Veeam Software Appliance.
It has 2 different parts when using local users.
First you need to create a user (role: user) in Host Management Console

Second step add the newly created user in Veeam Backup & Replication console or WEBUI.

If that is what you are doing already and that still fails, please create a support case, unfortunately we are not able help with technical issues on that forum.

I am seeing exactly the same issue and the above solution does not work. Can we get the correct solution for this ?

Hello, Vinod,

If the above solution doesn't work in your case, it could be a technical issue and that requires opening a case with Veeam Technical support.
