Instant Recovery
Hi all,
We are using the Hyper-V as our host to host VM. For the Instant Recovery cache folder. in V12.We still can configure under the repository. but in V13. I didn't see this option. Base my testing, it will created avhdx file during the Instant recovery. after we did the migrate to production. all the avhdx file will be gone.
1.Can you help to confirm about the cache folder on the instant recovery in V13?
2.For the disaster recovery, when is the best time to do the migrate to production? once finishing the Testing Recovered VM then do immediately to migrate to production? what is Veeam suggestion about this?

Re: Instant Recovery
Hi apolloxm,
Are you discussing vPowerNFS configurations for HyperV? HyperV instant recovery does not use vPowerNFS. Looks like the old User Guide has an incorrect link in it that sends you to the VMware Instant Recovery.
As for when to migrate, the "best" time is whenever you see fit, but generally it's best to migrate as soon as is feasible; instant recovery is useful for bringing the system online quickly, but it is meant as an intermediary step that is followed up with migration to production.

Hi apolloxm,
As noted in my previous post, that is for VMware, HyperV does not use vPowerNFS.

Re: Instant Recovery
Yes, I understood this is for VMware. how about the Hyper-V to store the change data? For example. I run the instant the recovery. I didn't migrate to the production or stop publishing but I did some change on the Instant recovery VM. where is those change files was hosted.

Re: Instant Recovery
Aha, but it's explained in the first link I shared with you -- it's best to understand Instant Recovery to Hyper-V as a very controlled restore. Changes are stored on the host itself during this process.
