Configuration Backup Copy Job?

Hi Constantin,

Not today, but there is a workaround (see the comments in this topic). Unfortunately, the workaround cannot be used if the configuration backup file is on a hardened repository.

Why not use the QNAP as the target until this request is solved? Use your QNAP tools to copy the configuration backup file to another destination. Also, A hardened repository doesn’t provide any benefits for configuration backups today, because the configuration backup file would not be immutable.

We use a file backup job to copy the configbackup to a repository and then a backup copy job on this file backup job to copy the backup config to 3 destinations.

How do you handle the versioning? With just a File Backup job, you aren't deleting out the old versions.

Just wanted to see if it would be possible to create a Feature Request that would allow Backup Copies for the Veeam Configuration Database. Would like to be able to have a streamlined process for it. Support gave me the following options

or

Create a "File Copy Job" that copies the .bco file(configuration backup file) to a secondary location. Kindly note that "File Copy Jobs" do not have retention capability, so you would have to manually delete old backup files. - https://helpcenter.veeam.com/archive/ba ... _copy.html

We would like to get copies to an offsite NAS and Cloud. Having to manually delete old backups isn't an ideal solution.

Other Backup Applications build in Direct to Cloud and Storage Policies (Retention Settings and Storage Locations) for the DB which makes it very easy to get the backups managed just like a normal backup.
