Bare metal restore

Post by perjonsson1960 »

Folks,

I have been reading this article:

https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/agent ... tml?ver=13

In the "Network storage" step, it says that you should choose "Shared folder".
I just wonder why you should not choose "Veeam backup repository"? Is that option not working in this context?

Kind regards,
PJ

Hi PJ,

The "How-To appendices" are just examples showing how you can handle specific scenarios. The BMR appendix you’re referring to applies to a case where the backup target is a shared folder, or where backup files were manually moved from another repository to a shared folder.

Other restore options depend on the network storage type you select during recovery: Network storage

If you have backups on a Veeam backup repository, then you need to continue with the steps provided here.

Best,
