Synthetic full job query

Post by onsik »

Hi

We have an incremental job set up to run every day from Monday to Saturday (included) + there is synthetic full set up to run on Saturday.

My question is - should I exclude incremental job from Saturday, as the syntetic full is running on that day?

Thanks
MAriusz

Mariusz, actually you cannot do that. :) The synthetic full is created at the end of the regular job incremental run on the day it is scheduled at. Veeam B&R first creates an increment and then builds a new synthetic full based on the previous full and a chain of increments (Monday through Saturday, in your case). The increment created on Saturday is then deleted. If you exclude Saturday from the schedule, the job will still launch on that day and the synthetic full will be created.

HI Foggy, thanks for your reply

SO I will leave the setting : incremental to run Monday to Saturday
Syntetic to run on Saturday.
