Surebackup check windows service fail

Post by Giacomo_N »

Hi guys,

I'm trying to check windows service with surebackup following this blog post : http://www.veeam.com/blog/automate-reco ... ackup.html
I've create the c:\temp folder, then i've insert the .ps1 and .bat files.
Surebackup starting , but when check the service "dhcp" or other services fail.
This is the error message inside log:

Code: Select all

Process is starting with the following start info:
[24.05.2013 13:58:45] <01> Info [SureBackup] [srvlv2] [ScriptTests] > WorkingDirectory = C:\Program Files\Veeam\Backup and Replication
[24.05.2013 13:58:45] <01> Info [SureBackup] [srvlv2] [ScriptTests] > FileName = C:\temp\query-service.bat
[24.05.2013 13:58:45] <01> Info [SureBackup] [srvlv2] [ScriptTests] > Arguments = %vm_ip% Dhcp
[24.05.2013 13:58:45] <14> Info [SureBackup] [srvlv2] [ScriptTests] [Console]
[24.05.2013 13:58:45] <14> Info [SureBackup] [srvlv2] [ScriptTests] [Console] C:\Program Files\Veeam\Backup and Replication>REM query-service.bat
[24.05.2013 13:58:50] <14> Info [SureBackup] [srvlv2] [ScriptTests] [Console] Error 1, Service 'Dhcp' not running or not found.

Can i create a ticket?

Thanks

Hi is the script checking for the correct service name? ie DHCPServer not Dhcp which is what the error indicates

Hi Kevin, yes the name it's correct, Dhcp is the service name of the dhcp client service.
I've also try to use "display name" instead of "service name" but nothing change..

Not sure then Giacomo, I suppose the logical thing to do is check manually if the service is running and run the script manually to check if it works. If both are positive log a support call

I would agree with Kevin on this - If the script works manually, then do contact our technical team for further assistance. Also just to make sure that service name is not an issue, can you please run it against any other service?

Hi guys, i've open the case yesterday, Case # 00221171

The case was successfully closed today, no error inconfiguration, simply the VM's required more time to execute the script, i've increase the boot time timeout and the application test timeout
