IMPORTANT: You can't upgrade version 1 to the BETA version, nor can you upgrade or install it on any server that has other Veeam solutions running on it. The Veeam explorer for Exchange added to the beta package is NOT compatible with Veeam Backup & Replication 9.5 update 2.

IMPORTANT: For testing purposes, you can safely protect mailboxes in production with version 1 and at the same time on a separate server with version 1.5. Do note that the throttling rules at that moment are shared so advices is to not let the jobs run at the same time or close to each other

Scalability

Veeam Explorer for Exchange
• Up to 5 times faster restore directly to your Microsoft Office 365 organization
• You can view the headers from emails now in Veeam Explorer for Exchange to investigate emails that could be potentially causing havoc or are malware related

Known issues
• The proxy component cannot be installed over an IPv6 only network
• The remote shell administrator connection cannot be installed using IPv6
• If you run Start-VBOJob simultaneous with Remove-VBOJob through PowerShell, it can cause and "Exception has been thrown by the target of an invocation error" when the UI is open
• Access denied to one of the repositories can make it impossible to open the entire organization archive
• The account that will receive the Grant impersonation rights has to be a member of the Organization Management. Role management is not enough
• It is not possible to add an on-premises organization by using a UPN
• The filter showing completed sessions can occasionally show warning sessions
• Group mailboxes are not supported (Shared mailboxes are)

The release version will support installation on Veeam B&R server (the minimum supported Veeam B&R version will be identified upon the release).

If you have downloaded it, then inside the zip there are manuals. Running it on an Azure VM or on-premises is the same

How about scaling out with additional proxy servers and repositories in Azure ?
Does planning a VBO365 service for multiple customers differ in Azure compared to a local based installation ?
Or does the manual apply regardless of local or Azure based VBO365 solution ?

Hi Johnny,

No changes there. Just deploy additional VM workloads in IaaS (open the ports between them that are needed) and you can scale out
The planning itself does not really change actually. The only difference is that you will be more limited in the size of your repository because of the disk limitations in Azure VMs.

the cause was a permission configuration error on the account we´re using.
The organization is now added.
I will soon begin the testing phase.

I am getting a error message "processing mailbox Mailbox2@zzz.onmicrosoft.com failed with error: Failed to synchronize item changes. Access is denied. Check credentials and try again., ICS synchronization failed." which prevents a successful backup of Public Folders. Can you help with this error?

Also, is there an update to the beta and an estimated GA date?

I have downloaded the version beta, but I have seen that the licence expires on 9/30/2017.
It means that :
a) another beta will be given
b) the GA will be given at the end of September
c) is it necessary to ask (to whom) for a new trial licence?
