In my home lab - Windows 10 Pro For Workstations
Version 1903 - 18362.175
With Veeam Backup & Replication CE 9.5.4.2753
I took a very simple file level backup (local - same machine as Veeam Backup & Replication is installed on)
I then tried to restore (guest files restore) a specific file (overwrite) from one of the backups
The restore fails with :
---
Code: Select all
Failed to restore "c:\Users\scf\Desktop\Stuff\desktop (2).ini" Error: WriteFilePart error: [Failed to obtain a handler for the file: c:\Users\scf\Desktop\Stuff\desktop (2).ini.
Failed to create new binary file [c:\Users\scf\Desktop\Stuff\desktop (2).ini].
Win32 error:Access is denied.
Code: 5]
I tried to google, and dig through the Veeam community forum postings, but nothing obvious
seemed to fit my case as.
The security permissions for my user ID (scf) has full file control, same for SYSTEM and Administrators.
Please let me know what I might do to resolve this issue with my file restore.
I am happy to experiment and report further details.
Thanks in advance.
