Hello,
We were trying to backup VMs to our NFS repository and we found that part of the VMs failed with error:
The network location cannot be reached. For information about network troubleshocting, see Windows Help. nfs41_root_mount_addrs() failed. WinAPI error
Does that mean Veeam B&R relies on Windows API to mount NFS repositories during backup and recovery?
We found that even Windows itself cannot directly mount NFS share, Veeam B&R can successfully write data to NFS repositories.
Thanks.

Re: How does Veeam mount NFS repositories?
Veeam uses a Gateway server to access the NFS repository. The proxies send the data to the gateway and the gateway then sends the data to the NFS Export. Check the configuration of the backup repository in Veeam to find out what gateway server is used. If it's set to Automatic (default), Veeam will try using any Windows or Linux machine added as a managed server under Backup Infrastructure.

Hello Arthur
Hello,
That sounds like a technical issue. Please provide a support case ID for this issue, as requested when you click New Topic. Without case number, the topic will eventually be deleted by moderators.
Sounds like a network issue. Please make sure that the gateway server can reach the NFS repository over network. Check your firewall and DNS if you have used the hostname.
Best regards,
Fabian
