I have Problems to backup my SharePoint 2010 Virtual Machine on ESX4.1 with 255GB (the VM)
The Error Message is:
Creating snapshot CreateSnapshot failed, vmRef "vm-254", timeout "1800000", snName "VEEAM BACKUP TEMPORARY SNAPSHOT", snDescription "Please do not delete this snapshot. It is being used by Veeam Backup.", memory "False", quiesce "False" Datei <unspecified filename> ist größer als die vom Datenspeicher '<unspecified datastore>' unterstützte maximale Größe.
Is the problem on the local Storage? Because the SharePoint2010 Server is on a LUN0 of my Synology 1010+ with 768GB Space and used 255GB from my SharePoint 2010 VM.
Now i remade a volume with 8MB and not as default 1 MB. I'm using 780GB Synology 1010+ iSCSI LUN. Now i can make Snapshots in VSphere but can't backup with Veeam.. Whats wrong??

File is bigger as from Datastore supported maximum size.
I'v had this error before and in my case it was wrong block size that caused this. Snapshots are stored in vm's original folder (where configfiles are) and the block size that we had configured on that LUN was smaller then on the other LUNs (containing other .vmdk files that the VM was using).
So make sure that the LUN where your VM's configfiles are stored is using the same Block Size (in our case 8 MB) as you have on other LUNs that contain your VM's .vmdk files.
