Remote console gives "The logon attempt failed"

We have a global setup where we have a backup server in Belgium.
We use the console remotely from a management server close to it without any issues.

On one proxy server in South-Africa we like to run a powershell script that triggers a job on the backup server in Belgium (after a power outage, which happens a lot over there).
But for some reason I can't even log in to the backup server with the console in South-Africa (the console is installed on the proxy for this).
All I get is the error:
Failed to connect to Veeam Backup & Replication server:
The logon attempt failed

Firewalling is OK as I see a successful connection on port 9392.

When I connect via powershell I get the same error:

Code: Select all

Connect-VBRServer : PowerShell client update environment initialization failed: Failed to connect to Veeam Backup & 
Replication server: 
The logon attempt failed
Execution environment cannot be initialized to Remote

Any idea where to look?

I guess there was some old software on the proxy from before.
A fresh server install fixed it.
