backup job permanently canceling
Hello everyone,
my veeam Backup agent (Windows 10, currently Veeam Agent Windows v5.0.3.4708)
Job cannot be deleted because it is permanently Canceling.
Even a new installation does not solve the problem.
Where is the file level job so I can delete it?
or another solution to delete/reanimate the old job?
Many Thanks
j

Hi Jo
Welcome to the forum.
You can try to reset the configuration database. But you will loose the entire veeam agent configuration. Restore is still possible from older restore points.
https://www.veeam.com/kb2335
If you don‘t want to do that, then you must provide a support case number which is required for any technical issue.
Thanks
Fabian

This link is now a 404
and it was blocked from Internet Archive scraping it. Luckily some other janky site had scraped it, but that was blocked by our web security software. Still I managed to get to it, and found that it said:
1. edit the registry and set "HKLM\SOFTWARE\Veeam\Veeam Endpoint Backup\RecreateSQLiteDatabase" value to 1
2. restart the Veeam Agent for Windows service
And it warns:
> Resetting the configuration database will reset all Veeam Agent for Microsoft Windows settings, removing existing job settings and related job history. Restore points created before the reset will not be removed and will remain recoverable; however, as their job will have been removed, they will not be tracked for retention.
PS. One of my many pet hates is software (Veeam Agent for Windows) which is supposed to be doing a job and isn't working, and then has a "Cancel" button and clicking it changes the status to "Canceling..." and it never cancels.
