Hi,
I would like to request clarification regarding kernel support for
Veeam Agent for Linux (VAL) version 6.3.2.1307.
■Background
VAL has been updated from version 6.3.2.1307 to 6.3.2.1405.
Along with this update, KB2804 (which summarizes supported kernels and distributions)
was also updated.
As a result, the supported kernel range for version 6.3.2.1307
is no longer clearly described in the current KB.
---
■1. Supported kernel range for VAL 6.3.2.1307
Could you please confirm up to which kernel version
VAL 6.3.2.1307 is officially supported?
In particular, I would like to understand:
- What is the maximum supported kernel version for RHEL 8 and RHEL 9
when using VAL 6.3.2.1307?
Since the KB now reflects the newer version (6.3.2.1405),
I would appreciate clarification for environments that remain on 6.3.2.1307.
---
■2. RHEL 9.8 kernel module patch (for version 6.3.2.1307)
According to my understanding, prior to the KB update (around June 10),
there was a note stating that:
- Certain RHEL 9.8 kernels (5.14.0-687.x.el9_8)
are supported by applying an additional kernel module patch
for VAL 6.3.2.1307
- The patch was available via My Account Portal or by creating a support case
I would like to confirm the current status:
1) Is this kernel module patch still available for VAL 6.3.2.1307?
2) If available, can it still be provided via a support case?
3) If it is no longer available, is upgrading to VAL 6.3.2.1405
the only supported option for RHEL 9.8?
---
I would appreciate your clarification so that I can provide accurate guidance.
Thanks,
Rin
