V12 Veeam Plug-in for VMware vSphere Client endless loading
Hello
I have a problem with the "Veeam Plug-in for VMware vSphere Client"
After updating to Veeam 12, the plugin stopped working. I uninstalled it completely, restarted vCenter and then installed it again.
The plug-in is displayed, when you call it I only get the loading squiggle. The window remains blank.
Does anyone know a solution?
vSphere Version: 7.0.3 Build: 21290409
Veeam Build: 12.0.0.1420
Case #05906335

Hello,
That sounds like a technical issue. Please provide a support case ID for this issue, as requested when you click New Topic.
Without case number, the topic will eventually be deleted by moderators.
Maybe it's the same issue as the one in this topic? Without a case number and debug logs we won't be able to analyze this issue.

Hi Georg,
Please double check if you have added vSphere Plugin user role explicitly in Enterprise Manager users list with "vSphere Role" type.
/Thanks!

Goto the Veeam Enterprise Manager -> Configuration -> Roles
and add a new role.
I used the these settings: Account type : vSphere role, vSphere role: Admin, Role: Portal-Administrator
and add a new role.

Re: V12 Veeam Plug-in for VMware vSphere Client endless loading
Veeam plugin works as an intermediate communication service between Vmware infrastructure and Veeam Enterprise Manager(details here).
From one side, plugin authenticates in vSphere, using vSphere user with respectful vSphere role assigned.
From another side, plugin authenticates in Enterprise Manager, using EM user with respectful EM role assigned.
For plugin to work properly, a mapping between used vSphere role and EM role is required. That is why role used in vSphere for the plugin should be added as a "vSphere Role" user type with permission "Administrator" in EM.
/Thanks!

Re: V12 Veeam Plug-in for VMware vSphere Client endless loading
I have now solved the problem with the help of Veeam Support.
The vCenter was registered with the IP and not the FQDN in Veeam.
After changing the name of the vCenter to FQDN in Veeam using Powershell, the plugin website worked again.
Change Managed Server Name/FQDN/IP in Veeam Backup & Replication
https://www.veeam.com/kb1905
After that you need to start Data Collection Job in Enterprise Manager for Backup Server.
Many thanks to Veeam Support

Re: V12 Veeam Plug-in for VMware vSphere Client endless loading
Does it show information from VeeamONE on the vSphere plugin UI?

It doesn't pull the information from Veeam One server to the vSphere Plugin, but rather has direct links to respectful reports in Veeam One web interface leading from the vSphere client.
/Thanks!

[MERGED] Enterprise manager vsphere plugin loop
Hello,
I try to use the plugin on my vcenter 7.0.3.
Install is ok but when I go to vbr plugin from vsphere web page I don t have the vbr data displayed. I just have a white page trying to load data but nothing happen.
To install thé plugin I use local vsphere account with associatif privilège.
Then I add domain account as EM portal administrator and vsphere administrator but same result.
Did I forget something for this to work or I have to open a ticket (If I can with NFR licence ) ?

Re: V12 Veeam Plug-in for VMware vSphere Client endless loading
It's working perfectly after setup the new role in EM dedicated to vsphere.
It's new feature to V12 and vcenter 7.0.1+ and it's a good feature !
Thanks
Now I need to check if I can configure it to launch VeeamOne report when I click on link into vsphere web page because there isn't anymore configuration to provide into the pluggin inside vsphere... (On documentation I see "Settings" tab but when I go to vsphere, I have never "settings" tab)
I created domain admin account. He is VeeamOne Administrator member.
The links : "View full report in Veeam One" linked to : https://www.veeam.com/vbr-plugin-report

Re: V12 Veeam Plug-in for VMware vSphere Client endless loading
Thanks, it works fine for veeamOne after integrate EM to VeeamOne but it links to VeeamOne dashboard home page. Is it normal ? I would expect to be on the associated report.
Then, I have lot of customer with vcenter without any ldap connection to AD. Only "vsphere.local" SSO domain is allowed. With this configuration, that means EM pluggin is useless right ?
Because EM role can't bind local vcenter account right ?
