[MERGED] Office 365 Support
Hi Team,
Any plans to expand your 0365 support from email to Sharepoint\OneDrive?
Just looking into some options for our clients and it would be great to be able to backup their 0365 SharePoint\OneDrive to a local Rep or our Cloud Connect.
Thanks,
Cullan

Re: Feature Request - Backup of Office 365 Sharepoint
Hi Mike R,
i have asked our sharepoint team and this is what they would like, we are moving all doc to sharepoint, could be between 5 and 10TB, for one drive we are migrating all users home drives which will be in the region of around 18TB. Hope this helps.
Restore of an entire site
Restore of a document Library
Restore of a list
Restore of a document including metadata (should we include versioning?)
Restore of security permissions for a user (groups?)
Cross tenant restore for all of the above
Thanks

Re: Feature Request - Backup of Office 365 Sharepoint
Phill,
Without making any promises, this indeed helps. Thanks for asking the team and coming back to us.
There are however some questions that come up to me now.
1. Restore of security permissions for a user: This is actually Azure AD related. Are you still running AD also on-prem and synching? The reason I ask is that we don't backup Azure AD at this moment so if a user is deleted from a group, we won't be able to recover it. I'm not 100 percent sure but if it is a hybrid AD, that information might be on the on-prem AD and could be protected already with B&R
2. Not sure what you mean with cross tenant restore? Could you explain?
Thanks
Mike

Re: Feature Request - Backup of Office 365 Sharepoint
Another +1 for OneDrive and Sharepoint
I would say OneDrive should be the priority as from a file perspective its relatively simple to sync Sharepoint Sites to a local server and then user B&R for those.
User OneDrive accounts aren't so easy as the OneDrive sync client is quite restrictive when it comes to multiple users.

Hi,
Spoke with 2 different customers. One last week, as well as one today who is looking for O365 support for OneDrive and SharePoint +1.

Please add me to the list. I'm currently using Veeam to backup the mail, but need the SharePoint/OneDrive feature also. I would say we are in the 5-10TB worth of data. Planning on shutting down our on-prem version of SharePoint.

Hi Greg,
Thanks for letting us know. As stated before, we are in investigation mode
. Any change you can tell me how SharePoint will be/ is setup in O365? Does users have individual SP site or are you using a company wide site and team sites?
I am particularly thinking on how I should allow O365 admins/ users to select sites/ collections/ ... for protection

Re: Feature Request - Backup of Office 365 Sharepoint
Thanks Lukas! I can assume you are talking about the new O365 teams? That includes a OneDrive, Onenote and so on per team? Or only in SharePoint a site created by the admin per team?
(Sorry for all the additional questions

Understood. You might want to look at the keynote of Thursday (the part where I showed a video of some upcoming v2 functionality...) and see if that (at first sight) fits your needs. And always, feedback is appreciated

Hi,
another one who likes to have backup of OneDrive and Sharepoint with Veeam Backup for Office 365.
Is there any estimate when we will get this?
Thanks,
Michael

Re: Feature Request - Backup of Office 365 Sharepoint
i saw a few comments that version 10 would be late this year or Q1 next next year, so i would assume its around that time frame although veeam wont officially say. i think early next would be a more realistic time frame.

One thing is for certain, it won't be Q1 next next year
. That would make it 2019
