For the Linux beta you can register here: https://go.veeam.com/linux
I do not know of a single place to register for all betas. I would suggest using social media, watching the forums, and making sure you are registered for Gostev's weekly digest email, that has a ton of great information in it each week.

Is there a way to backup MAC yet? Got a file server which we might want to backup.

+1 for OS X as well.
I am scoping a potential client with reworking their mac workflow and backups, but it looks like veeam won't be in the running on this opportunity.

Re: Other OS Support (Linux, Mac)
Hi,
Thank you for your request. In order to better understand what customers might need should we decide to support Mac, I would like to ask what is their current workflow, and what exactly do they want to backup - files, volumes, whole machine? I would imagine those are mainly files (maybe apps), however if you would provide some input that would be great.
Thanks!

Re: Other OS Support (Linux, Mac)
Hi PTide,
Thank you for your attention to this feature request.
Short version:
Vital is backing up /Users/* one way or another, over the internet.
Long version:
We see that business owners and CEOs like to use MacBooks. These are a different type of user than the rest of the company. They are on the move much more, insist on minimal restrictions in their workflow, and generally do whatever they like.
So we need, at a minimum:
- all user data in /Users/*
- exclude certain folders (such as /Users/username/Documents/Virtual Machines.localized/* (vmWare Fusion virtual machines)
- centrally monitor if the backup completed
Very nice to have, almost vital:
- must upload over the internet, since the users are away from the office for weeks at a time
Nice to have, but not vital:
- Since a lot of private data will be included, it would be good if the user can set their own encryption key that we, system administrators, don't have.
- Ideally we could do entire system backups with versions, like TimeMachine sent over the internet.
Currently we don't do backups of these laptops, and leave it up to the users themselves to enable TimeMachine etc. Most companies still have a policy that all company data must be stored on the network and accessed over VPN, and that only copies of the data may be stored on laptops. But this is quickly becoming an outmoded way of working and we notice that in reality CEOs and company owners are storing plenty of important data on their laptops anyway.
Does that info help in planning for this feature?
Yours,
Robert

Re: Other OS Support (Linux, Mac)
Our 'power users' are on Windows laptops and we don't offer backup for laptops so not too much of a problem. We do have MAC file servers though.

Re: Other OS Support (Linux, Mac)
Hi,
Our IT stock is composed of :
- 50% of macs
- 25% of windows laptop
- 25% of windows
Our need is:
- A centralised way to manage backups of all OS (backup configuration and monitoring).
- The user must not be able to change backup policy.
- Plug all agents to a Veeam cloud connect platform.
Actually we can't use veeam as desktop backup solution as mac OS x is not supported.
Thanks

Hi,
What kind of support would you expect from such product? I'd imagine that file-level backup (sort of like what TimeMachine does) for users' data should suffice?
Thanks!

Re: Other OS Support (Linux, Mac)
Absolutely - would love to see file-level or image based backup in a Veeam Agent for macOS.
I am tired of running macOS as a "time machine" server just so I can back up Mac, when in actual fact the rest of the fleet (windows and linux) are backed up with Veeam!
Hoping Veeam seriously consider this as it would simplify lots of things, can do file-level restores from VBR, and even push the macOS backups to cloud the same way we do with everything else in B&R!

Well, image-based backup is going to be much trickier, and, honestly speaking, I don't see much purpose yet.
Thanks!

File level backup in Veeam VBK format would be fine.

+1 for Mac OS support
File level backup would be fine with me, we're a school district with a mac lab at one of our locations, we have a macbook pro running as a server for that lab including file storage via iSCSI. The AV students in that lab save their project files and media on that file share, so it would be very bad for that to crash without backups, and obviously it would be ideal to use our backup solution to backup everything.

Re: Other OS Support (Linux, Mac)

Basically there is a huge market out there for business level backups for Mac. Time Machine backup is simply not good enough or reliable enough to use in a business environment and has cause us a lot of problems in the past. Acronis is the closest software to attempt this, as it stores it in 1 large block which does not support incrementals and takes ages to complete. A file level backup to both onsite and offsite would be ideal, with monitoring through a centralised portal (so VAC or VB&R).
Are there any plans for Veeam to support something like this in the near future?

Hi Peter,
Welcome to Veeam Community Forums and thanks for posting!
We have no short-term plans for supporting Mac OS, however, your vote is noted and taken into account.

Just adding my vote to the list, I definitely have a need for this. I would love a Veeam Agent that can be deployed and managed through VAC for the VSCP program.

+1 MacOS. As much as it pains me to type this, Mac is not going away in the enterprise (small, medium, or large)... Please consider this as I believe this would greatly increase Veeam being sold....

Hi @Cary,
How do you usually perform mass-deploy for Mac applications that are not in AppStore?
Thanks!

Re: Other OS Support (Linux, Mac)
Mass deploy in MacOS I'm assuming would typically be done with something like JAMF, Addigy, Munki or any of the tools specifically designed for MacOS management. Unfortunately, Apple is not making this any easier on Admins and they seem to tighten the reigns farther with each new OS release.
The full blown requirement for DEP, ABM, MDM tools for mass deployment and Apps Digitally signed for Gatekeeper seems like its inevitable sooner rather than later.
