HPE StoreOnce Performance

Post by MLThr8 »

Hi all,

Just wondered if anybody on here had some real world performance figures of what there getting backing up from a VMWare 6.5/6.7 enviroment on a HPE 3PAR to a HPE Storeonce 5100?

Just curious as to if ours is running as expected or if there is an issue in the environment somewhere. Backups seem to be taking us quite a while to complete.

Many Thanks

Hi Michael, what numbers do you see? What is reported as the primary bottleneck for your jobs?

Please review the following threads, should give you something to think about:
StoreOnce Catalyst performance not as expected
Real world restore speeds using HPE StoreOnce 3540

Thanks!

Currently all our jobs seem to be averaging a processing rate of between 50-60MB/s. Sometimes this can Peak up to between 70-80.

Currently have a job running at 56MB/s Bottleneck is the target but bottleneck figures are currently: Source: 13%, Proxy: 6%, Network 12%, Target 48%.

Does this sound reasonable or a bit on the slow side?

Thanks

Depending on the setup it might be faster. Make sure everything is according to recommendations and check settings discussed in the threads mentioned above.

Does that mean it sounds as if it's under performing to you then? What would you expect these numbers to be around?

Looking at the numbers in the referred thread, it could be closer to 150MB/s.
