I have several warnings like this in the windows event log:

Code: Select all
The description for Event ID 1 from source Veeam Endpoint Backup cannot be found. Either the component that raises this event is not installed on your local computer or the installation is corrupted. You can install or repair the component on the local computer.

If the event originated on another computer, the display information had to be saved with the event.

The following information was included with the event:

Cannot write into storage C:\ProgramData\Veeam\Endpoint\Svc.VeeamEndpointBackup.log.
 Text: [AutoUpdate] Result is NoUpdates
Severity: Message
System.UnauthorizedAccessException: Access to the path 'C:\ProgramData\Veeam\Endpoint\Svc.VeeamEndpointBackup.log' is denied.

the message resource is present but the message is not found in the string/message table

Hello Johan,
Does this have any effect on the backup job process? Did you notice any errors in Veeam Endpoint Backup session log while backup job was running? Thanks

No, I haven't noticed any problems with the backup (yet). It seems like you are doing concurrent writes to that log file.

Might be system related - windows can sometime throw a tons of similar events that are not supposed to be addressed somehow. If you are worried – feel free to open a support case and ask to investigate this behavior.

Your application is obviously throwing an exception, which a developer probably would like to investigate further. Your answer is just plain guessing, which is a bit worrying actually.

There is not much I can do without the application debug logs, right? Feel free to open a support case via Endpoint’s Control Panel > Support tab to get this investigated by support’s team and post here the case ID. Thanks
